ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, rains over Visayas, Mindanao

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Visayas and Mindanao on Friday, PAGASA reported.

As of 3 a.m., the center of Tropical Storm Queenie was at 1,075 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour near the center,gustiness of up to 90 km/h and moving northwestward at the speed of 20 km/h.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Mindanao, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ with flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Visayas and Palawan will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

The wind speed forecast northern and eastern sections of Luzon is light to moderate and moving in the northeast to east while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate moving in the northeast to northwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed with variable movement with slight to moderate coastal waters.
