Filipinos traveling to their provinces and visiting cemeteries for Undas on Sunday may encounter scattered rains and thunderstorms in parts of Northern Luzon, according to PAGASA.

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said a shear line was affecting mainland Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga and Isabela, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms.

Moderate to at times heavy rains could trigger flash floods or landslides in affected areas, the weather bureau warned.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan is affecting the rest of Northern Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte and Benguet.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms could also trigger flash floods or landslides.

PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for sudden downpours, particularly those traveling or visiting cemeteries during the observance of All Saints' Day.

Light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to east will prevail over Luzon and the Visayas, and from the southeast to east over Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Typhoon In-fa was located 2,290 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 a.m. Sunday, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

It was packing maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 190 kph. It was moving east-northeastward at 10 kph.

The sun would rise over Metro Manila at 5:51 a.m. and set at 5:28 p.m. on Sunday. — MCG, GMA News
