Typhoon In-fa, which remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), is not expected to directly affect the country, the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Monday.

In a report on Balitanghali, PAGASA said the typhoon's trough is also not expected to bring rain over the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is expected to bring light rains over Northern Luzon, while localized thunderstorms may affect other parts of the country, including Metro Manila.

PAGASA issued a thunderstorm advisory effective until 10 p.m. Monday for Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Aurora, Northern Mindanao and the Davao Region.

The weather bureau also said one or two tropical cyclones are expected to enter PAR, with historical tracks indicating that potential landfalls are most likely in the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas or Caraga.— MCG, GMA News
