Cloudy skies, rains expected across PH amid 3 weather systems

Cloudy skies and rains are expected across the Philippines due to three weather systems, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its early Saturday morning forecast.

Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.

Meanwhile, the Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Amihan.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Caraga, the rest of the Bicol Region, Marinduque, Romblon, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, and Davao Oriental.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3 a.m., the weather disturbance was located 2,540 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gusts of up to 70 km/h. It was moving west-northwestward at 30 km/h.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas are expected over Northern Luzon.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas. —VBL, GMA News
