Western Luzon to have scattered rainshowers due to LPA
The state weather bureau reports that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 915 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes early Friday morning.
PAGASA also reported in its early morning 24-hour forecast that the effects of the southwest monsoon will be felt in the western section of Luzon.
The provinces of Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan will have monsoon rains due to the southwest monsoon.
Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Ilocos Region and central Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms also brought about by the southwest monsoon.
Meanwhile, the Bicol Region, Visayas, Caraga, and Northern Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of the LPA.
The rest of the country will have cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms.
The forecast wind speed in the western section of Luzon is moderate to strong moving southwestward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of Luzon will wind speed will be light to moderate moving north to northwest while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
For the Visayas and Mindanao, forecast wind speed is light to moderate moving southwest to west with slight to moderate coastal waters. — BAP, GMA News
