Cloudy, light rains in several provinces due to northeast monsoon


The northeast monsoon will be affecting extreme northern Luzon while the easterlies affecting the rest of the country, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast on Tuesday.

Cagayan Valley Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao  will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The Ilocos Region and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the northeast monsoon.

The residents in these are warned of the possible gusty conditions in mountainous and coastal areas.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms brought about by the easterlies. Isolated flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed in northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The forecast wind speed in the eastern sections of central and southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be moderate to strong moving in the northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

For the rest of the country, the wind speed forecast is light to moderate  and moving northeastward while the coastal waters will remain slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
