Northeast Monsoon to bring scattered rains to parts of Luzon, Visayas

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) is affecting Luzon on Sunday, bringing rains to parts of Luzon and Visayas, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon and Oriental Mindoro will have cloudy skies with scattered rains. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during heavy rainfall.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and of CALABARZON meanwhile will have cloudy skies with light rains.

The monsoon will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon and Eastern Visayas.

As for Mindanao and the rest of Visayas, these areas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be rough over the seaboards of Luzon, with waves reaching as tall as 4.1 meters.

For the rest of the country, coastal waters will be moderate to rough, with waves ranging from 1.2 to 4.1 meters.

Sunrise will be at 6:23 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:58 p.m. —KG, GMA News
