Easterlies, Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rain over the Philippines
The warm easterly winds coming from the Pacific Ocean and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan are forecast to bring cloudy skies and rain over the country within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said that the Amihan is expected to hover over northern Luzon starting on Sunday after not affecting the entire Philippines for two consecutive days.
Cold weather should be expected from Sunday night until Monday dawn due to the return of Amihan.
The Easterlies, on the other hand, are affecting Central and southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated light rain were forecast over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley.
Partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms, which may cause possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorm.
PAGASA also said there is no cyclone or low pressure area currently within the Philippine Area of Responsibility and the Pacific Ocean. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
