Ambo to bring rains, thunderstorms over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas
The trough of Tropical Depression Ambo is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Mindanao and Eastern Visayas, PAGASA said Tuesday.
In its forecast issued at 4 p.m., the weather bureau warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to, at times, heavy rainshowers.
Ambo was last estimated at 410 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph at 3 p.m.
It is moving north northeast slowly, according to PAGASA.
Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Flash floods or landslides are also possible due to severe thunderstorms.
A severe weather bulletin will be issued at 11 p.m. on Tuesday
Thunderstorm warning
Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Cavite, Batangas, and Quezon within the next two hours, according to PAGASA.
As of posting time, the conditions are being experienced at areas in Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Rizal which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.
PAGASA said thunderstorms in other areas are now eliminated.
"All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides," the weather agency advised. -NB, GMA News
