Ambo to bring moderate to heavy rains in Bulacan, Nueva Ecija
Severe Tropical Storm Ambo continues to weaken as it moves over the Northern Bulacan-Southern Nueva Ecija area, PAGASA said Friday evening.
According to its 11 p.m. severe weather bulletin, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) no. 2 is hoisted over:
- Babuyan Islands
- The northwestern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Praxedes, Claveria, Sanchez Mira, Pamplona, Abulug)
- The southern and western portion of Isabela (Quezon, Mallig, Roxas, Quirino, San Manuel, Burgos, Gamu, Reina Mercedes, Aurora, Luna Cabatuan, Naguilian, Benito Soliven, Cauayan, San Guillermo, Dinapigue, San Mateo, Alicia, Angadanan, Ramon, San Isidro, Echague, Jones, San Agustin, Santiago, Cordon)
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- Apayao
- Abra
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Benguet
- La Union
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Nueva Ecija
- Quirino
- Aurora
- Pangasinan
- Tarlac
- Pampanga

At 10 p.m. on Friday, Ambo was estimated in the vicinity of San Miguel, Bulacan with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph.
PAGASA said Ambo is forecast to continue traversing Luzon before emerging over the coastal waters of the Ilocos Region on Saturday morning.
The next severe weather bulletin will be issued at 2 a.m. on Saturday.
Heavy rainfall outlook
From Friday night until Saturday morning, Ambo is expected to bring moderate to heavy with, at times, intense rains over Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Benguet, Ifugao, and Isabela.
From Saturday morning to Sunday morning, it may bring moderate to heavy rain with, at times, intense rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, La Union, and Pangasinan.
Residents were advised to take precautionary measures as flooding and rain-induced landslides are possible in susceptible areas during heavy or prolonged rainfall.
