Scattered rains expected over Extreme Northern Luzon due to frontal system

A frontal system is affecting Extreme Northern Luzon on Monday, bringing scattered rains over the area, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.

Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

The rains may cause flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned.

Meanwhile, a southwesterly windflow is affecting Northern and Central Luzon.

This will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Extreme Northern Luzon, with waves reaching as high as 2.8 meters.

For the rest of the country, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
