Butchoy, southwest monsoon to bring rains, thunderstorms over Luzon, Visayas
Tropical Depression Butchoy and the southwest monsoon are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Luzon and Visayas, PAGASA said Friday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides during moderate with, at times, heavy rains.
At 3 p.m. on Friday, the center of Butchoy was estimated at 285 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
It is moving west northwest at 25 kph. PAGASA earlier lifted storm signals even as Butchoy slightly intensified as it moved away from Luzon.
Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Mindanao.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25°C at 6:10 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 29.8°C at 3 p.m.
PAGASA will release a severe weather bulletin at 11 p.m. on Friday. —LDF, GMA News
