LPA spotted east of Cagayan as ITCZ brings rains, thunderstorms over Zamboanga, Palawan

A low pressure area was estimated 920 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, PAGASA said on Saturday.

Aside from this, the weather bureau said the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Zamboanga Peninsula and Palawan.

Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, mostly in the afternoon or evening, over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City reported a minimum temperature of 26°C at 5:50 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 31.8°C at 1:50 p.m.

PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Bataan and Pampanga within the next two hours.

As of posting time, heavy to intense rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Metro Manila, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Zambales, and Tarlac, which may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.
