Trough of LPA to bring rains, thunderstorms over Metro Manila, other areas

The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Central and Eastern Visayas, Mindanao, and the provinces of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan, PAGASA said Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with, at times, heavy rainshowers.

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, the LPA was estimated at 530 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA and Western Visayas.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may, meanwhile, prevail over the rest of Luzon due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said flash or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 26°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 29.5°C at 1:30 p.m. —LDF, GMA News
