LPA to bring rainshowers, thunderstorms to several areas

A low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to the Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Bicol region, Quezon Province, including Polillo Island, Aurora, and Isabela, according to PAGASA.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with, at times, heavy rains.

At 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was estimated at 255 kilometers east northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

The southwest monsoon is also expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, the rest of Calabarzon, the rest of Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible, according to PAGASA.

Localized thunderstorms may, meanwhile, bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over the rest of the country.

Severe thunderstorms may cause flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 24.6°C at 6:10 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 31.1°C at 12:30 p.m. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
