Igme, Habagat to bring rains, thunderstorms over 6 areas
Severe tropical storm Igme and the Southwest Monsoon are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, and Bataan on Saturday, according to PAGASA.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate with, at times, heavy rains.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday, Igme was estimated 470 kilometers north northeast of Basco, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph.
Igme is forecast to move north northeastward at 20 kph.
Meanwhile, localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.
The synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City also recorded a minimum temperature of 24°C at 6:05 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33.6°C AT 1:50 p.m.
