Southwest Monsoon to bring rains over Batanes, 5 other areas
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Sunday over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Zambales, and Bataan, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during moderate or heavy rainfall, or during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the western and northern sections of Northern Luzon, and moderate in the rest of Luzon.
Elsewhere in the country, coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
Severe Tropical Storm Igme (international name: Bavi) has already exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday night.
At 3 a.m., Bavi was already 620 km north northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, having maximum sustained winds of 100 kph and gustiness of up to 125 kph.
Bavi is moving north northeast at 20 kph.
