Habagat to bring cloudy skies, thunderstorms over Bicol, eastern Visayas


The southwest monsoon will be affecting the country on Friday, PAGASA reported.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau continues to monitor the Low Pressure Area (LPA) that was estimated at 1,075 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora.

The Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the southwest monsoon with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. The weather warns that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed in extreme northern Luzon is strong and moving southwestward while coastal waters will be rough.

For the rest of Luzon, the wind speed is moderate to strong moving in the southwest to west direction as coastal waters will remain moderate.

In the Visayas, wind speed is light to moderate moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters are slight to moderate.

Wind speed in Mindanao is light to moderate and moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
