Southwest monsoon to bring isolated rainshowers over the country


Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest monsoon, according to PAGASA on Thursday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

PAGASA said the monsoon is affecting the extreme Northern Luzon.

Meanwhile, the synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25.9°C at 6:30 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 33.2°C at 1:50 p.m.

At 3 p.m. on Thursday, a typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility was estimated at 1,620 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 185.

It is moving west northwestward at 15 kph, according to PAGASA.—Joahna Lei Casilao/LDF, GMA News
