Southwest monsoon to bring cloudy skies, isolated rains
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the western section of Luzon on Monday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Northern Luzon, and slight to moderate in the rest of the country.
Sunrise will be at 5:44 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:04 p.m.
Meanwhile, the former Typhoon Kristine (international name: Haishen) which exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday night, was located at 3 a.m. at 1,585 km north northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
Haishen has maximum sustained winds of 150 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 205 km/h.
It is moving northward at 35 km/h.
On Sunday, Haishen—categorized as “large” and “extremely strong” lashed southern Japan, and officials warned it could bring record rainfall and winds strong enough to snap power line poles and flip cars. —KG, GMA News
