LPA to bring thunderstorms, rain showers over Metro Manila, 5 areas

A low pressure-area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas, according to PAGASA on Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

At 3 p.m. on Saturday, the LPA was estimated to be in the vicinity of Silang, Cavite.

Localized thunderstorms may, meanwhile, bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible.

Meanwhile, a tropical depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) was spotted at 2,170 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph.

It is moving east northeast at 15 kph.

Meanwhile, the PAGASA synoptic station at the Science Garden, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 25°C at 6 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 31°C at 1 p.m.  —LBG, GMA News
