Cloudy skies, rain expected over Philippines as PAGASA monitors 2 LPAs

State weather bureau PAGASA on Sunday said cloudy skies and rainshowers should be expected over the Philippines within the next 24 hours due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and localized thunderstorms.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, PAGASA said an LPA was last seen 760 kilometers east of Davao City, while another LPA was last spotted 255 kilometers west-northwest of Iba. Zambales.

PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas and Central Visayas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms. — Julia Mari Ornedo/BM, GMA News
