Marce out of PAR, intensifies into tropical storm
Tropical Depression Marce has intensified into a tropical storm as it exited the Philippine area of responsibility, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday morning.
In its 11 a.m. severe weather bulletin, PAGASA said Marce exited PAR at 6 a.m. and was upgraded to a tropical storm category at 8 a.m.
Marce was last seen 1,400 kilometers east north east of extreme Northern Luzon outside PAR at 10 a.m.. It is moving north northeastward at 15 kilometers per hour and has a maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.
Marce will move generally north or north-northwest this Monday and will turn north-northeast on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a new low pressure area was spotted in the vicinity of San Jose, Northern Samar. It is expected to dissipate within 24 hours.—AOL, GMA News
