Southwest monsoon to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over parts of western Luzon, Visayas
The southwest monsoon will be affecting the western section of Luzon while the frontal system will be affecting extreme Northern Luzon on Tuesday, PAGASA reported.
Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula and the provinces of Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Sulu and Basilan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with the possibility that flash floods and landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.
Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstormsdue to the frontal system. The weather bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms. PAGASA also reported that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
The weather bureau continues to monitor the active tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) though the weather system will not affect the country.
Tropical Storm Kujira is located 3,330 kilometers east northeast of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph and moving northward at 25 kph.
Meanwhile, a tropical depression is located at 2,570 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 55 kph and moving in the north northeast direction slowly.
The wind speed in northern Luzon is light to moderate moving in the northwest to west direction while coastal waters will be moderate.
For the rest of the country, the wind speed is light to moderate moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
