Habagat, LPAs to bring rain, cloudy skies over Philippines —PAGASA
The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, and two low-pressure areas (LPAs) under monitoring are expected to cast cloudy skies with rain showers over the Philippines in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers will prevail over Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, and Quezon province.
PAGASA added that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
One LPA was last seen 420 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes; while the other was spotted 395 kilometers west of Sangley Point in Cavite.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said it was monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).
Last seen at 1,900 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon, the cyclone with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph, was “almost stationary,” PAGASA said. —LBG, GMA News
