Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao will have cloudy skies, scattered rains due to LPA, southwest monsoon
The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 310 kilometers west northwest of Coron, Palawan early Friday morning with the southwest monsoon will be affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, PAGASA reported.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought by the LPA and the southwest monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.
Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and BARMM will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorm with possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly surface Windflow with no significant impact.
The bureau continues to monitor the active tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Typhoon Chan-Hom which is 1,585 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the eye with gustiness up to 160 kph and moving in the north northeast direction at the speed of 15 kph.
The wind speed for northern Luzon is strong moving northeastward with rough coastal waters.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON wind speed will be moderate to strong moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
