Quinta to bring rains with gusty winds over Kalayaan Islands

Typhoon Molave, formerly Quinta, is expected to bring rains with gusty winds over the Kalayaan Islands, PAGASA announced Tuesday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned of possible very light to light damage to structures and vegetation due to strong winds.

The trough of Molave may also bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Mindoro Provinces, Palawan, Romblon, Western Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

At 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Molave was estimated outside the Philippine area of responsibility at 285 kilometers north northwest of Kalayaan Islands, Palawan with maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 190 kph.

It is moving westward at 30 kph.

Meanwhile, the tail-end of a frontal system is expected to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan.

PAGASA said flash floods and landslide are possible during severe thunderstorms.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may also prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

A severe weather bulletin on Quinta is set to be released at 5 p.m.—AOL, GMA News
