LPA to bring rain, thunderstorms to southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

A low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Visayas and Mindanao, and over the CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol Regions, PAGASA said Saturday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rain.

The LPA was 500 kilometers east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said flash floods and landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.
