Orange rainfall warning up over Kalayaan Islands due to Vicky

PAGASA raised the orange rainfall warning on Sunday at 5 a.m. over Kalayaan Islands in Palawan due to heavy rains from Tropical Depression Vicky.

This means flooding is threatening in low-lying areas.

Landslides are also threatening in mountainous areas.

The yellow rainfall warning meanwhile was hoisted over the rest of Palawan.

With this, flooding and landslides are possible in areas prone to this.

PAGASA advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management council concerned to take the necessary actions, monitor the weather condition and await the next advisory. —KG, GMA News
