Rains over northern Luzon due to tail-end of frontal system

Several provinces in northern Luzon are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a frontal system, PAGASA said in its 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Among the affected provinces are Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Kalinga, Apayao and Ilocos Norte.  Residents in the areas should brace for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

The same weather condition may be felt in the Bicol region, Aurora, Quezon and Kalayaan Islands brought about by easterlies and trough of the tropical depression, and residents are similarly warned to be prepared.

In Batanes, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains, while in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the easterlies will result in partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Sunrise will be at 6:17 a.m. while sunset will be at 5:33p.m., the weather bureau said.  —LDF, GMA News
