LPAs, Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rain across Philippines
Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will bring cloudy skies and rain over the Philippines within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said one LPA was last spotted 40 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon, while the other was last located 190 kilometers north-northwest of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
Amihan, meanwhile, was affecting Northern Luzon.
PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms would prevail over the Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Rizal, and Quezon.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms will persist over Samar Provinces and the rest of Luzon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers should be expected over the rest of the country.
PAGASA advised the public to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council earlier warned of possible floods and landslides in Luzon due to the prevailing weather conditions.
