LPA, frontal system will bring rains, thunderstorms over 9 areas —PAGASA
A low-pressure area (LPA) and the tail-end of a frontal system are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over nine areas across the country.
Areas particularly affected include the Visayas, Bicol region, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Quezon province, Marinduque, Romblon, Mindoro Provinces, and Kalayaan Islands in Palawan, according to PAGASA on Saturday.
In its 24-hour forecast, the weather agency warned affected residents of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
At 3 p.m. on Saturday, the LPA was estimated based on all available data at 165 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.
Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) may bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora province.
Amihan may also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
PAGASA said the northeast monsoon has no significant impact.
Likewise, the rest of Mindanao may, meanwhile, experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods and landslides are also possible, according to the weather agency.
