Trough of LPA to bring rains over Visayas and Mindanao —PAGASA

The trough of a low-pressure area will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over several parts of Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said Sunday.

In its 24-hour forecast, the weather bureau said the trough of the LPA will affect Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Davao region, and the provinces of Sorsogon and Masbate.

At 3 p.m., the LPA was located at 685 kilometers east-southeast of Davao City, Davao del Sur.

PAGASA advised residents in affected areas to brace themselves against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora in Luzon.

Also, the Ilocos region and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains due to Amihan.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Further, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will be experienced in the northern and eastern sections of the country, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will prevail over the rest of the archipelago. —LBG, GMA News
