LPA, frontal system to bring rain to E.Visayas, Bicol, 5 other areas

A low pressure area (LPA) and the tail-end of a frontal system are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Eastern Visayas, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Aurora, according to PAGASA on Tuesday.

In its 24-hour hour forecast, the weather agency warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains.

PAGASA said that the LPA was estimated based on all available data at 125 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar at 3 p.m.

The northeast monsoon is also expected to bring cloudy skies with rains over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon as well as partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos region.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers may prevail over the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.

The weather agency said flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms.

Its synoptic station at the Science Garden, Diliman, Quezon City recorded a minimum temperature of 24.5°C at 5 a.m. and a maximum temperature of 31°C at 1:50 p.m. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
