Mimaropa, Calabarzon, 5 other areas to have rains due to LPA, frontal system
A low pressure area (LPA) near Palawan and the tail-end of a frontal system (Shear Line) will bring rains over Mimaropa, Calabarzon and five other areas on Sunday, PAGASA said in its early morning forecast.
The other areas affected are Bicol Region, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula and Caraga.
These areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and the tail-end of frontal system.
Flash floods or landslides may occur during times of moderate or heavy rains.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting the Northern Luzon. It will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Aurora.
The Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the monsoon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was located at 70 km east northeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the seaboards of Luzon and Western Visayas, and slight to moderate in Mindanao and the rest of Visayas.
