Cloudy skies, rains over Mindanao, most of the Visayas due to LPA, easterlies


At 3 a.m. on Wednesday, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based at 180 kilometers southwest of General Santos City with easterlies affecting Luzon and Visayas, PAGASA reported.

Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Negros Occidental will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA and the easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Wind speed forecast in Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Northern Luzon will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the southeast to northeast direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate.
