Bising continues exit away from Luzon landmass
Typhoon Bising accelerated while moving northeastward away from the Luzon landmass, PAGASA said Thursday night.
In its 11 p.m. severe weather bulletin, the weather bureau said the center of the eye of Bising was located at 490 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes or 495 km east of Itbayat, Batanes with maximum sustained winds of 150 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. It is moving northeastward at 15 kph.
PAGASA said Bising will move generally northeastward on Thursday night to Friday evening before turning east southeastward to eastward on Saturday and eastward to east northeastward on Sunday morning.
The typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
It is also forecasted to be downgraded to severe tropical storm category on Friday.
Hazards
In the next 24 hours, rough to very rough seas will be experienced over the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Luzon (2.5 to 5.0 meters).
Moderate to rough seas, meanwhile, will prevail over the eastern seaboards of Central and Southern Luzon (1.5 to 3.0 m).
“Mariners of small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over these waters. Inexperienced mariners of these vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions,” PAGASA said. --Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
