LPA, ITCZ to bring rainshowers over Visayas, Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) are expected to bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said on Friday.

In its 24-hour weather broadcast, the state weather bureau said the LPA was located 415 km East of Borongan City, Eastern Samar (12.1°N, 129.2°E) embedded along the ITCZ affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The weather bureau said Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCKSARGEN, and Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the LPA and ITCZ.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA added.—Richa Noriega/LDF, GMA News
