LPA, ITCZ to bring rains over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao

A low pressure area and the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region, PAGASA said Monday.

In its daily weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was located 615 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur at 3 p.m. embedded along the ITCZ affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Cagayan and Isabela will have cloudy skies with rains due to the shear line.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during moderate to, at times, heavy rains, PAGASA added.

Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Kalinga, and Apayao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said flash floods or landslides are also likely during severe thunderstorms.

Further, moderate  to strong wind and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over Northern Luzon, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced in the rest of the country.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
