PAGASA: Shear line, northeast monsoon to affect parts of Luzon

The shear line or tail-end of frontal system will be affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon, while the northeast monsoon will also affect northern and Central Luzon, the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Friday.

According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast, Bicol Region and Quezon province will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to shear line with possible flash floods or landslides during heavy rains.

Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeast while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The sun will rise at 5:59 a.m. on Saturday.—Richa Noriega/LDF, GMA News
