Amihan, ITCZ affecting areas in Luzon, Mindanao —PAGASA


The northeast monsoon or amihan will bring rain showers to areas in Northern and Central Luzon, while the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will affect Mindanao, weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.

According to its 4 p.m. weather forecast, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Cagayan, Isabela, and Apayao will experience cloudy skies with rains caused by amihan with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Laguna, Rizal, and northern Quezon including Polillo Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Caraga, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to ITCZ with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region will have partly cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorm.

The wind speed forecast for Northern and Central Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeast while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
