Shear line, ITCZ to bring rains over parts of the country –PAGASA


The shear line (tail-end of frontal system) will be affecting the eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon, while the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) will also affect Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, the state weather bureau PAGASA said Thursday.

Based on PAGASA's 4 p.m. weather forecast, Mindanao, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Palawan, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains due to northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to, at times, heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Visayas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and Visayas is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
