Cloudy skies, rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora due to northeast monsoon


The northeast monsoon will be affecting northern and central Luzon on Wednesday, according to the early morning forecast posted by PAGASA.

Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains brought about by the northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.

The weather bureau, meanwhile, continues to monitor Tropical Storm Nyatoh outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

Nyatoh is located 1,330 kilometers east of southern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness up to 105 kph moving in the west northwest direction at a speed of 15 kph.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
