Shear line, Amihan to bring rains over Luzon, Visayas – PAGASA

The shear line (tail-end of the frontal system) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over the Visayas, while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will affect Luzon, weather bureau PAGASA said on Friday.

According to PAGASA's 4 p.m. weather forecast, Visayas, Bicol Region, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Quezon, Romblon, Marinduque, and Oriental Mindoro will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line.

It also warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains due to Amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
