Cloudy skies with scattered rains to prevail over parts of the country due to trough of LPA, Amihan

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over parts of the country due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) and the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan, weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.

According to its 4 p.m. weather forecast, Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of an LPA or easterlies with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains caused by Amihan.

Visayas and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the wind speed forecast for Northern Luzon is moderate to strong while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed while coastal waters will be slight to moderate. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
