Cloudy skies, rain across parts of country due to LPA, shear line

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will prevail in parts of  Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and shear line, the weather bureau PAGASA said on Wednesday.

Based on its 24-hour weather forecast, the LPA was last spotted at 260 kilometers west of Zamboanga City.

Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by LPA and shear line.

PAGASA advised of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with light rains caused by Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.

Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers with possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the wind speed forecast for Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to strong while coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough.

Both the forecast wind and coastal water conditions for Mindanao will be moderate. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
