Shear line to bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers in northern Luzon

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will affect extreme northern Luzon due to the shear line, PAGASA said Sunday.

In its 4 p.m. bulletin, the state weather bureau said the shear line will prevail over the Cagayan Valley region and provinces of Apayao and Ilocos Norte.

Soccsksargen, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi will also have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms because of the Intertropical Convergence Zone.

PAGASA advised those living in these areas to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides due to the occurrence of moderate to heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the easterlies or localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, according to PAGASA.

Moderate to strong winds moving northeast will blow over northern Luzon, causing moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience moderate to strong northeast wind flow, causing moderate to rough coastal waters.

Maximum temperature is 32.8°C at 2 p.m. and the minimum temperature is 21.7°C at 5:15 a.m, PAGASA stated. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
