LPA, ITCZ to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over Palawan, Visayas, Mindanao


At 3 a.m. on Thursday, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 220 kilometers southwest of Zamboanga City and embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) that will be affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA / ITCZ with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies / localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving eastward while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
