Caraga, Davao, SOCCSKSARGEN to have scattered rain showers due to ITCZ, LPA
The regions of Caraga, Davao, and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Sunday due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and the low pressure area (LPA) embedded in it, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
The LPA was located at 3 a.m. at 315 km southeast of Davao City.
"Mababa naman ang tiyansa na maging bagyo ang binabantayang LPA," PAGASA weather forecaster Ezra Bulquerin said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.
(The chances are low that the LPA will intensify into a tropical depression.)
PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may result during moderate to at times heavy rains in the above-mentioned areas.
Meanwhile, in Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are to be expected, caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough in the seaboards of Extreme Northern Luzon, with waves possibly reaching up to 3.1 meters.
The rest of the country's coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
