PAGASA: Frontal system, easterlies to affect the country

The frontal system will affect extreme Northern Luzon while easterlies will prevail over the rest of the country, PAGASA said on Wednesday.

Caraga and Davao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to easterlies, according to the weather bureau's 4 p.m. forecast.

PAGASA warned that these areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains and possible flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for extreme Northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving southeast to northeast, while coastal water conditions will be moderate to rough.

Wind speeds will be light to moderate, moving east to southeast across Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and Mindanao, with slight to moderate coastal water conditions. —Mel Matthew Doctor/VBL, GMA News
